The Best Eco-Friendly Kickstarter Products
If you’re anything like us, you love learning about new and sustainable product inventions emerging into the market. Today on Mind Over Mango we are sharing our top 5 favorite eco-friendly Kickstarter products worth funding. So if you’re interested in investing in new inventions that are good for you and the planet, check out our handpicked selection below.
LastTissue | The Reusable Tissue Pack
LastTissue is a product concept brought to you by the makers of LastSwab, a reusable “cotton” swab. Given that LastSwab was such a success, LastTissue was born. LastTissue is the reusable tissue. Less gross than a handkerchief and less wasteful than a Kleenex. The concept is certainly more radical than a reusable swab, but hear us out.
Why You Should Back It
LastTissue is an environmentally friendly alternative to single-use tissues. The paper industry is the third-largest culprit in global warming greenhouse gasses. Every year, approximately 8 million trees are chopped down for facial tissues. That’s right, 8 million trees for runny noses.
Deforestation is a huge problem that’s only getting worse. Trees help to clean our atmosphere of toxic carbon emissions. The fewer trees we have, the more climate change will occur. Deforestation also destroys wildlife habitats. That means less food, shelter, and natural breeding grounds for animals. Therefore this eco-friendly Kickstarter is clearly worth the investment. (LastTissue has now moved its funding over to Indiegogo!)
If LastTissue isn’t quite your thing (yet), consider checking out LastSwab. Use Promo Code MANGO10 for 10% OFF any order.
NORDIFAKT | Towels With Eco-Technology
NORDIFAKT is reinventing the everyday towel. The Copenhagen is an eco-friendly, self-sanitizing towel designed for everyday use. Each towel is anti-microbial and is treated with Polygiene® technology. This sustainable treatment utilizes silver salt chloride to kill off odor-causing fungi, microbes, and bacteria. The Polygiene® treatment won’t wash away either – it will last through the entire lifecycle of your towels.
Why You Should Back It
The Copenhagen towel claims it will prevent 99.9% of bacteria growth. Bacteria can divide every 20 minutes. This means that your used towels can begin to smell after only a couple of days. Not only that, but this means you can wash your towels less and save up to 475 gallons of water each year. It’s economical and also 100% recyclable. Furthermore, Copenhagen towels are made with 100% Oeko-tex certified organic cotton.
They will be offering a variety of towels. Choose a Kickstarter that has either bath sheets, bath towels, or hand towels. Even better, they have packages that offer a variety of each.
FORGO | Sustainable Powder to Liquid Soap
FORGO is a powder to liquid handsoap designed to eliminate plastic waste from landfills. Their concept is simple: why create more waste than necessary? After all, liquid handsoap is around 80% to 95% water. FORGO keeps practicality in mind by forgoing what’s not needed and keeping what is.
Why You Should Back It
FORGO is eco-friendly in every right. Not only are they saving water, but they also reduce plastic waste. Packets are shipped in compostable and recyclable paper baggies. They are also shipped in recycled paper boxes. In fact, FORGO uses bare minimum packaging, meaning it’s just enough to keep your items safe without creating unnecessary waste.
FORGO is also vegan and cruelty-free. Their powder soap contains only 6 naturally derived ingredients. Their ingredients are considered safe by EWG Skin Deep®. Moreover, 5 of the 6 are also COSMOS certified (COSMetic Organic and natural Standard).
Coffee Fruit Bar | Discarded Waste Superfruit Bar
The Coffee Fruit Bar revolutionizes the coffee fruit. You heard that right. Coffee is actually a fruit. What we typically consume are the coffee beans that are derived from the fruit. If that doesn’t make your head spin then what you learn next will.
Why You Should Back It
It’s estimated over 44 billion pounds of coffee fruit byproduct is wasted every year. This byproduct enters water source streams and damages our ecosystem. In fact, 91% off each coffee fruit is wasted when the beans are extracted. That’s a lot of wasted food.
Another reason to back it: it’s vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free too. The coffee fruit has powerful antioxidants; even more than Acai berries. By backing this Kickstarter, you are boosting the economy and empowering coffee farmers across the world. There’s also no added sugar. You can choose from a variety of flavor combos. Not to mention, each bar wrapper is 100% compostable.
A-Zero Bags | 100% Compostable Bags
A-Zero Bags are ready to take on the plastic bag industry head-on. They have invented 100% compostable bags that naturally decompose after a couple of months. A-Zero bags are made using vegetable starch. They have successfully fused nature with technology. Thus, their eco-friendly Kickstarter campaign is in full force.
Why You Should Back It
A-Zero bags do not require trees or fossil fuel. Therefore, they are 100% better than using paper or plastic. This means each bag minimizes global warming greenhouse gas emissions. Their grocery bags can hold up to 18 lbs and can be used up to 15 times. They also have a 12-month lifespan too.
A-Zero has a ton of bag options. They have trash bags, grocery bags, sandwich bags, and even cork totes. What’s more, their bags display unique artwork from Artists all over the world. They have a commitment to conservation and want everyone to know.

March 31, 2020There are so many fascinating products out there just waiting to be discovered. Did you find these organically? Like – searching on Kickstarter? Or were you referred to them? I don’t think I ever would’ve known about something like this otherwise! My sister has self-sanitizing towels and swears by them, but I gotta admit the whole reusable or unwashable product thing really wigs me out haha! I guess I gotta continue my research so I know enough to make a real decision on whether or not it’s for me.
