If you’re as in love with florals as I am, you may be sad that the summer months are coming to a close. It can seem like a challenge to incorporate floral looks into your wardrobe during the colder months. Fear not, however: floral trends will still be popular this Autumn/Winter 2018! There are creative ways that you can tie in floral patterns with traditional year-end trends too, and my friends at Traffic People have got you covered! So today I’ll be introducing you to Traffic People’s newest AW18 collections that have just hit the shop!

Tropical Florals & Fur
Okay, so can we please start by talking about this first floral dress I’m wearing? While most of TP’s newest collections are darker-toned in nature, that doesn’t mean you can’t sport a bright floral dress like the Hold Onto Summer Penny Dress. I decided to pair this dress with their new furry National Velvet Clasp Bag.
If you’ve never considered pairing floral with fur, now is the time to start doing it! Faux fur is a fantastic fabric to wear during these cooler months. Tying in two completely different trends like these can create surprisingly stunning combinations!
The best way to achieve a balanced look is to pull mutual colors together from various pieces. The difference in patterns and textures can create bold and daring looks. You may have never imagined pairing them together! Yet, they still work well, letting you rock any floral outfit from this season’s collections in the coldest months of the year!
That being said, let’s take a look at two other head-to-toe Traffic People AW18 outfits that I have paired together using these techniques!
Subtle Fall Florals
Alright, so I really love this sleek, sophisticated, floral and fur look I’m wearing here. I am wearing the Heart of Glass Definitely Dress. One thing I love about this is that the floral pattern in itself is such a great seasonally transitional piece. It’s relatively subtle, but the beautiful gold fleck material will really bring your outfit to everyone’s attention once all eyes are on you (and trust me, they will be)! The more muted, the less in-your-face pattern is a great way to keep the trend going in a style that makes sense for this time of year!
I decided to also throw one of my new favorite Traffic People AW18 handbags into the mix. The dark green faux fur of the National Velvet Clutch compliments and balances the warm tones in the dress. The textures of both of these pieces next to one another are incredible. It gives the entire look a really glam yet somehow low-key vibe to it.
Bold Contrasting Floral Combos
Okay, so if I’m being honest, I’m kind of obsessed with this final look. Here, I paired together floral, fur, and velvet, which is unlike the other two previous outfits! I’m wearing Traffic People’s Never Letting Go Penny Dress with the National Velvet Gatsby Shrug on top. Finishing it off, I slung the new National Velvet Crossbody Bag over my shoulder!
The faux fur on the velvet shrug creates that textured bold nightlife look against the tiny red flowers that are sprinkled throughout the dress. I love this piece because it’s one of the few among Traffic People’s newest collections that is this vibrant and bright. So don’t be afraid to be bold and pair it with other pieces from TP’s Autumn/Winter 2018 collections either. By the way, velvet is always a good idea in the colder months!
My Best Fashion Advice
So my biggest advice to you, my friends, is to be daring with your floral pieces in these coming seasons! Go ahead and step outside of your comfort zone by pairing unexpected combinations like these together. Keep in mind that mixing textures is totally okay and is in fact, encouraged! Using fabrics in unique ways against one another will not only make your entire look insta-worthy, but it will definitely turn a few heads in your direction! Balance is key too, so be sure that you’re pulling together the right colors from each piece.
Experimenting is Key
Above all, experiment! Here I’ve shown you three completely different outfits using all these techniques. Add these combos to your cart, or give yourself some credit by pairing other pieces from Traffic People’s AW18 collections to design your own custom and unique outfit combinations. Think outside the box, because you’re sure to #fallinlovewithTP once your newest deliveries arrive at your doorstep.
