Pixi Beauty Skincare
Pixi is a familiar beauty company that has risen to prominence over the past several years. Once a seemingly overpriced drugstore brand sold in Target, Pixi has expanded its horizons. With its rise in popularity, many want to know: is Pixi cruelty-free and vegan? Today on Mind Over Mango, we are going to dissect Pixi’s cruelty-free status. Furthermore, we are going to discuss whether or not the Pixi Hydrating Milky Collection is vegan.
Table of Contents
Pixi Cruelty-Free & Vegan Status
Pixi is a cruelty-free company. Neither their final products nor their ingredients are tested on animals. Pixi also does not sell in countries that require animal testing. This includes mainland China. Furthermore, Pixi is cruelty-free, but not 100% vegan. However, Pixi has a surplus of vegan options to choose from. With that said, the Pixi Hydrating Milky Collection is not 100% vegan.
UPDATE MAY 2020: Upon further research, we have discovered two ingredients that are not vegan. To learn more about the non-vegan ingredients, click here. All non-vegan will be marked with an asterisk *.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Collection
The Pixi Hydrating Milky Collection contains 7 different products: *Milky Makeup Remover, *Milky Cleanser, *Milky Exfoliating Peel, Milky Tonic, Milky Facial Serum, Milky Face/Body Lotion, and their *Milky Face Mist.
Not every product is suitable for all skin types. Therefore, we will address which products are best for oily, dry, and combination skin. You will also learn how to build a full or partial routine using Pixi Hydrating Milky products.

Build Your Pixi Skincare Routine
Pixi offers an array of skincare options. The Pixi Hydrating Milky Collection is best for either dry skin or combination skin. However, some of these products can also be used on oily skin in moderation.
Oily Skin & Pixi Hydrating Products
For oily skin, we find that using the Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover followed by the Hydrating Milky Peel strikes an ideal balance. The Milky Makeup Remover is water-based and oil-based, a rational option when working with oily skin. Consequently, this product helps to counteract sebum production that causes oily skin.
Moreover, exfoliation is extremely important for oily skin types. Oftentimes, oily skin creates a thick coat of dead skin cells. As a result, dead skin cells can cause severe acne breakouts. The Hydrating Milky Peel will remove dead skin cell buildup and unclog pores. Avoid using harsh exfoliants as they can worsen acne. The Hydrating Milky Peel is an extremely gentle exfoliant that will get the job done without causing further damage.

Product Table of Contents

Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover
The Pixi Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover is a gentle bi-phased makeup remover. Bi-phased products are formulated by creating “layers”, commonly referred to as “phases”. The first layer is water-based, while the second layer is oil-based. Thus, it helps to effectively remove waterproof and long-wear makeup. The hydrating properties and bi-phase technology are great for plumping the skin.

Hydrating Milky Cleanser
The Pixi Hydrating Milky Cleanser is a gentle foaming cleanser for the face and neck. This product foams when it comes into contact with water. Jojoba Esters beautifully moisturize the skin. This product also contains Cinamon Extract, known for its anti-inflammatory properties. A little goes a long way with this product. Avoid wasting product by applying only a dime-size amount onto the skin.

Hydrating Milky Peel
The Pixi Hydrating Milky Peel is an exfoliating face mask that contains Arginine. Arginine is an amino acid that boosts elastin and collagen production. It is also an antioxidant that fights against free radicals and aging. The Milky Peel is also enriched with natural Cellulose. Cellulose contains humectant properties. Consequently, these properties supply the skin with ample moisture. Use this exfoliating mask twice per week for the best results.

Milky Tonic
This alcohol-free Pixi Milky Tonic instantly hydrates and balances the skin. Matricaria Flower Water, Clove Extract, Orange Peel Extract, and Rose Water Extract are a handful of the beneficial ingredients it offers. These extracts provide essential nourishment for the skin. What’s more, this tonic is gentle enough to apply over and around the eye area as well. Enjoy instant hydration as well as improved skin texture overtime.

Hydrating Milky Serum
The Hydrating Milky Serum is a fluid, lightweight serum that hydrates and plumps the skin. Its smooth texture is formulated with key ingredients. Skin-loving ingredients such as Rose Flower Extract, Aloe Vera, and Glycerin replenish the skin and provide essential nutrients. This serum applies thinly and absorbs quickly. Therefore, apply just half a dropper’s worth of serum to your skin. This product is very moisturizing. Therefore it does not require multiple layers to achieve total hydration.

Hydrating Milky Lotion
The Hydrating Milky Lotion is an all-over face and body lotion. This lotion provides long-term hydration to the skin. This is because it is formulated with lush ingredients like Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, and Cocoa Seed. As a result, this product is extremely moisturizing, making your skin soft and supple to the touch. We found this product works best on the hands, feet, and limbs. However, apply wherever hydration is needed.

Hydrating Milky Mist
The Hydrating Milky Mist is a lightweight face mist. Hyaluronic Acid provides instant hydration and can reduce fine lines over time. Vitamin B helps reduce redness and also improves skin texture as well. Use this product to tie off your nightly skincare routine. Additionally, this mist can be applied before and after makeup application. This helps to create a base and set the makeup to last all day long. We recommend using this mist no more than twice per day.
