What is Beauty Pie & How Memberships Work
Beauty Pie is a cruelty-free beauty product membership company available to US and UK residents. They sell a variety of beauty products such as makeup, skincare, haircare, fragrance, & beauty tools. There are four membership tiers available, ranging from $10/month to $99/year. Purchasing a membership gives customers access to low-cost beauty products. These low-cost products are said to be made in the same manufacturing facilities as many high-end luxury beauty products.
Spending Limits Explained
Beauty Pie’s system is quite unique. This is where the concept becomes foggier, and why some claim that Beauty Pie is a scam. Every membership plan has a monthly “spending limit”. For example, if you pay the annual $99/year, you are allowed up to $100 spending limit per month. In comparison, if you choose the $30/month plan, you are allowed up to $300 a month spending limit.
Typical Price vs Members Pay
Each product states the “Typical Price”, meaning how much you could expect to pay for the exact same product under a luxury brand name. There is also a “Members Pay” price, which is, of course, significantly less money. Beauty Pie can dictate whatever they feel is the “Typical Price” you would pay. Admittedly, there’s no real substance or proof behind these claims. Some Typical Prices may seem a bit steep, however, the product quality speaks for itself.
How Monthly Spend Works
Although you will only pay for the Members Pay price, the Typical Price is what is actually deducted from your monthly spending limit. For example, let’s say you have a $100 spending limit. You want to purchase a product that will cost you just $10.82 (Members Pay), but the Typical Price is $85. Your monthly spending limit will leave you with just $15 remaining. If you want to purchase another product that month, the Typical Price must be $15 or under.
Luxury Dupes
While Beauty Pie doesn’t claim any specific dupes for high-end products, customers believe that there are adequate luxury dupes available from Beauty Pie. Some members claim that certain products, such as their Everyday Great Skin Foundation, is a dupe for the (non-cruelty-free) Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. We compared the ingredients of the two products and only found a handful of ingredients that overlap. The Giorgio Armani foundation is priced at a cool $85 a bottle, whereas the Beauty Pie foundation Typical Price is $40. Needless to say, the jury is still out on definite product dupes. However, the quality is certainly there.

Is Beauty Pie A Subscription Box?
No – Beauty Pie is not a subscription box. You are also not required to actually use your monthly spending limit. You can skip however many months you’d like. As a result, any unused spending limit will roll over to the next month. Your spending limit will continue to add up over time so that when you’re ready to shop again, you are less limited in how much you are able to purchase.
Membership Perks
All members of Beauty Pie receive perks. Depending on your membership tier will also depend on what perks you have and how often. For example, every member has the opportunity to join in on “PIEDAYS”. Occasionally, Beauty Pie has an overstock of certain products. PIEDAYS are days where all members can shop these products without it being deducted from their monthly spending limit. Therefore, you continue to only pay for the Members Pay price without subtracting any dollar amount from your Typical Price spending limit. Cruelty-Free, Vegan & Eco-Friendly
Let’s not forget that Beauty Pie is 100% cruelty-free. They do not test their products or ingredients on animals, nor do they ask anyone to on their behalf. They also do not sell their products in mainland China. Furthermore, most of Beauty Pie’s products are vegan. Every product will list its vegan status along with the key benefits of that particular product.
Not only that, but Beauty Pie uses a minimal packaging approach. Their goal is to offset the millions of tons of cosmetic packaging that goes into landfills every year. This means that they avoid over-the-top packaging designs and use a little plastic as possible. Many of their products come in glass jars and every outside packaging is shipped in FSC Certified cardboard.
Is Beauty Pie Worth it?
If you are someone who loves to try new beauty products at reasonable prices, then yes – Beauty Pie is worth it. Although we can’t speak to how accurate the Typical Prices actually are, we’re convinced that we’ve saved a significant amount of money from the get-go.
