Favorite (Inexpensive) Cruelty Free Brands

Cruelty Free Products Leaping Bunny

All about that cruelty free life!

Hello my friends! This week’s blog post on Mind Over Mango is all about some of my favorite cruelty free beauty brands on a budget! πŸ‡ I know it can feel difficult and discouraging finding products that aren’t tested on animals. Often times you will walk into a shop and discover that most of items are in fact, not cruelty free. Well, I’m here to show you that there are some pretty cool brands that you can pick up on the cheap!

It’s important that we support companies against animal testing. If everyone started to only buy products from these types of companies, non-cruelty free companies would eventually be forced to change their ways in order to adapt to society’s new standards. Luckily, we are already heading in that direction! For example, animal testing is completely banned in the EU, Norway, Israel, and India. A recent announcement has stated that California may be next up on the list for banning animal testing, being the first state in the U.S. to outlaw this inhumane practice. Next stop: the rest of the world. So let’s kick off this blogging series with some of my favorite companies that say NO to animal testing!Β  πŸ°πŸ©πŸ‡πŸπŸπŸΉπŸˆπŸ΅πŸ¦πŸ€πŸΆπŸ• πŸ’πŸ± (Okay, I know. Animal emoji overload!)

Yardley London

Yardly London Soap $1 Cruelty Free

Yardley London is known for their quality soap bars for “dirt” cheap prices. Trust me though, there’s nothing dirty about these beauties! You can buy Yardley products often times in your local dollar store (for of course, $1) as well as on Amazon in packs of as many as 10 soap bars. They all smell amazing, and are so smooth and buttery on your skin in the shower. A little suds goes a long way too! πŸ›€ They have all kinds of different scents. I love their lavender bars as well as their oatmeal + almond. By the way, they have an amazing avocado scented one as well (and a bunch others), so check them out if you want a luxurious but inexpensive animal friendly soap! 😸

Not so fun fact: Bunnies and mice aren’t the only animals that should be concerned about being tested on. 🐰🐁 Monkeys, hamsters, and even cats and dogs are highly experimented on as well. 🐡🐹🐈🐩 Generally, scientific experiments of any kind can involve an even larger range of animal test subjects, including fish, amphibians, birds, and farm animals.Β πŸ˜πŸ πŸ¦ŽπŸ¦πŸ·πŸ„Β

Global Beauty Care

Global Beauty Care Cruelty Free Face Mask Dolar Tree

So this is a purchase I was actually very pleased with. I am not one for using face masks that you mold onto your face and end up looking like a scary ghost.Β πŸ‘» Frankly, I’ve found many are overpriced for a one time use. However, I found these cruelty free collagen masks by Global Beauty Care for $1 at my local Dollar Tree. Each pack comes with two, so for only .50 cents a mask it’s hard to go wrong. This leaves my skin moisturized and soft, and it’s kind of fun having a change of pace in the types of masks I use! πŸ’† They are packaged very beautifully, so I grabbed a few more to give to my girlfriends when a special occasion may arise. They are also sold on Amazon for a slightly higher price tag, however if you can’t find them at any of your Dollar Trees, it’s worth knowing they aren’t much more expensive online. πŸ›’

Note: Some people have adverse reactions to certain masks or products like these. Always test these products on the inside of your wrist before applying to your face for the first time. The masks have extra collagen that you can easily squeeze out, making it simple to check to see if you are sensitive to it or not so that you don’t look like this guy! βž‘οΈπŸ‘Ή

Formula 10.0.6

Okay, so let’s talk about the types of masks I usually gravitate toward, which are the mud masks that you squeeze out of the bottle and apply to your face. This one in particular by Formula 10.0.6 is well loved in my collection of skincare products, and for good reason. First, it does the job it says it’s going to, an automatic win! My pores become gradually more and more clear overtime using this product, and it zaps acne into outer space too!Β πŸš€βπŸ‘©β€πŸš€ I try to use this mask at least once to twice a week for best results. Also, the smell is very pleasant, another win in my book. This product states it may cause your face to feel tingly, which for me is true. However, fear not! In my experience, that is just the product working its magic and cleaning out your pores by killing that nasty bacteria. Goodbye acne!Β πŸ–οΈ

L.A. Colors

L.A. Colors Face Powder $1 Cheap Dollar Tree Haul

Now this brand is my jam.Β πŸ‡ I have been a long time fan of L.A. Colors. I’ve been religiously using their products since high school. As time has moved forward, their products only get better and better. For the price of their goods, you definitely can get more than your money’s worth. I’m sure if you have ever been to the dollar store, then you have seen a surplus of L.A. Colors makeup. It’s hard for me not to walk in without picking up a product (or two, or ten…). πŸ›οΈ This face powder gives me the coverage I need and doesn’t break the bank. In fact, I literally stock up on this product of theirs because I love it so much and always want one handy. Plus, they are compact and easy to throw into any of your handbags, no matter what the size they may be. πŸ‘

Of course, they are cruelty free, and love their animal friends! Below I included some of my favorite products of theirs that I also love. I couldn’t find this compact powder online, but I guarantee you will find it at almost any dollar store. In the meantime, check out some of my other favorite makeup of theirs below that are also only $1. Some of these are their harder-to-find beauty products that may not be in any of your local shops! I highly recommend them all for the price tag! 🏷️

Lacura

Lacura Face Wash Beauty Products Aldi Cruelty Free

I wanted to finish off this blog post by talking about a recent find of mine: the Lacura Hydrating Facial Cleanser. I bought this bad boy at my local Aldi for a few dollars. I just started really expanding my reach with facial cleansers. I have to admit I wasn’t exactly on top of my skin game regime until more recently. I would wash my face daily, but wouldn’t pay much mind to it. 🌊 When I suddenly started suffering from acne that began popping up out of nowhere on my face, I realized that I needed to explore new ways to try to eliminate it. Now, I wouldn’t exactly dub this as an acne eliminating cleanser, however it is an overall great way to wash your face every morning and night to remove excess oil, dirt, and makeup. 🀑

With its very gentle formula, this cruelty free cleanser helps to get that extra ick off my face before moving on to the next steps in my skincare routine, which is slowly starting to come together. πŸ™ You can find Lacura products at Aldi, or on Amazon in variety packs. I included some of their day + night anti-wrinkle face creams as well, which I own myself and absolutely love! If you don’t have an Aldi nearby, I highly recommend buying the variety packs online.

That about wraps up this week’s blog post my friends! 😁 I will be writing more in the future about cruelty free products. πŸ‡ These were just the tip of the iceberg! If you haven’t fully made the switch to a cruelty free beauty lifestyle, I advise you start doing research to educate yourself about the dangers it causes to our furry friends, and how horribly unnecessary it is to harm and kill animals so that we can look “pretty” by society’s standards. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈβŒπŸ’ There are plenty of cruelty free and ethical beauty brands that exist. Once you start looking out for them, you will see that they are not hard to find! πŸπŸ€πŸΉ πŸ¦πŸΆπŸ•

Thank you as always for taking the time to read my blog! A special thanks for checking out this article in particular as well. I appreciate each and every one of you who are interested in helping save our planet’s beautiful creatures in any way we can. Talk to you all soon!Β πŸ’™

xoxo Sara

There are some great brands we have in the UK as cruelty free over here is pretty commonplace. Just important to check whether the brand sells in China as by law they have to test on animals to get to market! Thanks for the Guide!!

Hi Kayleigh!!! πŸ’™ Thank you for your comment, I’m glad you enjoyed the post! Oh yes, I know in some places like the EU it’s completely banned. There’s actually a brand I ran across who sell in the EU and China, but have had to create new cruelty free formulas to sell in Europe (because they must be just that stubborn about staying in China). πŸ˜“πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³πŸ˜Ώ I know China recently passed laws about animal testing not being required, however I believe it only stands for native born brands and not foreign brands within the market. Plus, it’s still not guaranteed or outlawed: it continues to be an option. I hope they can continue to progress!!! 😺

Wow I loved reading this post Sara! I have seen many of these brands in my local Dollar Tree or Aldi before, but didn’t think much of them. Thanks for showing me their worth! I will be picking up several of these to try for myself!
