All I can say is that Color Blocking is back!
So I seem to be in a bit of a “color kick” lately, or more specifically, a “color blocking kick”. I’m currently really loving color combos of pinks and greens, and find that they balance out well together, especially considering the season. I like to keep my outfits seasonally appropriate, not just in actual attire (like shorts, or sweaters) but in colors as well. Let’s just say I’m really excited for summer and hope it never ends! 😍
Today’s outfit of the day is one that I threw together real quick. Cassio and I had planned to go shooting in Downtown Plymouth, Massachusetts, and we decided we would shoot a couple of different outfits since it was such a glorious day outside. 🌞 I knew that I had been wanting to wear this sleeveless blouse from Style & Co. quite badly, so I paired it with my favorite green Adrianna Papell trousers that I purchased recently at TJ Maxx! By the way, I actually found this blouse at a local thrift store near me, and spent a whopping $2.99 on it! It is in perfect condition, and looked as if it had come straight from the store rack! I have a “dupe” below, which is more expensive (obviously), but it is from a great brand that many of you have heard of before. 👂
Before running out the door, I clipped on my vintage Sarah Coventry stacked hoop earrings that I purchased at an antique store recently for $3.99. Despite getting a bit fancy with the earrings, I did want to keep this look pretty casual, so I grabbed my new penny loafers from Chinese Laundry that I purchased on sale at DSW a couple weeks ago. I then slung on my gold Betsey Johnson handbag I bought at T.J. Maxx a few years back to tie the entire look together.
Sometimes it can be tricky pairing accessories or clothes from 10 seasons ago when you know they will be hard to track down again for blogging purposes. I did however find out the name of the bag (“Be Mine” Collection Rouched Xbody), and found a black version available on Amazon! 😎 You can also do a quick google search of this handbag name to find the gold version for sale from third party sellers, go take a look!
2018 has definitely seen the revival of color blocking after it had been pushed onto the backburner in recent years. So what do you all think? I can tell you this for sure: you will absolutely be seeing more of this trend from me! Mind Over Mango is just getting started!
P.S. I am completely in love with the floral wall we came across while shooting. I think I loved it just as much as I loved my outfit! 🌼🌼🌼
